SYNCHRONICITY STORIES

You’ve had a synchronicity if it’s acausal or relational in time, space and mass, or ‘the weight of the matter;’ your objective, outer life feels tied to your subjective, inner life or it integrates your ‘spirit’ and your bodily instincts in your psyche, the Greek for soul, or creates a new consciousness. For example, meeting a true ‘soulbuddy’ sparks a connection due to the powerful effect of synchronicity. 

1. Make a timeline of those ‘coincidences’ that were really synchronicities that changed your destiny. 

For example: 

• A Boston Red Sox, our family visited their winter training quarters in Sarasota. Click! We moved to sunny Florida. I met my first significant ‘soulbuddy,’ five years later--a teacher of integrity and compassion who saw the ‘best’ in me and modeled the woman I wanted to become. 

• My college boyfriend and husbands signposted my path to becoming a counselor, a psychologist, a psycho-spiritually oriented Jungian ENERGYNAMICS consultant. 

• All my ‘communication’ devices died in one month. Web designer= new laptop + Son=used IPhone + IT consultant=budget-friendly KIA SOUL. 1-2-3=magic! 

2. Write, tell or record a big Synchronicity Story that changed you or your life. 

• *Significant Other(s) or a ‘by chance’ encounter
  • romantic spouse/partner
  • career partner
  • teacher/mentor 
  • worker
  • boss/supervisor
  • friend or ‘soulbuddy,’ 
  • ‘supernatural’ being or angel

• *Critical Experience(s) or a ‘happy accident’: 
  • A ‘fortunate’ singular positive event or ‘gain’ that caused you to enlarge or deepen your mind, heart or behavior
  • A singular ‘unfortunate’ negative event or loss, i.e. being fired or forced to ‘sink or swim’ yet that ‘unfortunate’ event/loss that later enlarged or deepened your mind, heart, behavior and led to a ‘brighter’ destiny
  • A local, national or international event involving a castrophic disaster or traumatic upheaval i.e. natural disasters, human-created economic depression/recession, ‘warfare’ between nations, ‘tribes’ or families, and the like which led to poverty, symptoms of mental or physical illness, family discord, disruption, or breakdown yet these events also led to a significant, positive change. 

• *Sensory Experiences: visual, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching plus ‘input’ from the imaginal world:
  •  Images from dreams, fantasies or the visual arts, i.e movies, plays, paintings, photos, written words in prose or poetry that shifted your awareness about yourself or the natural or ‘unseen’ world
  • Show or describe the image or scene and write how it affected your belief, feeling, or behavior. Sounds or vibrations heard or felt from music, different environments, etc. Record/video and describe their effects on you. 

• *Other: 
  • Animals, pets, childhood invisible playmates or TV, radio, movie or comic book characters that may have ‘sparked’ a meaningful connection and describe in words and/or visually the emotional, mental, physical or spiritual significance to you.  

3. Share a number or symbol sequence and write a story. 

• Number: 
  • examples: I Dreamt  was waiting for a number 11 bus. A women saw 11s in dreams and in life. I did also: 3 of my 4 departure gates flying back from Japan; 3/11/19 at 11:00

Our charity’s name is 19 S(oul) G(roup) Inc. based on a dream of 19 sparks. 19 means ‘beginnings and endings.’ 3 means ‘dynamic change.’ These numbers came together when a grandmother friend called--her daughter was ‘stuck’ in labor. We ‘received’ the perfect advice--her grandson was born at 3/11/19 at 3:19 pm. 

Symbol: At age 13, a story about a deer that sacrificed its life for a man--his father in a previous life popped into my mind, although I’d never heard about reincarnation. My English teacher was amazed! In my studies about dream symbol and research about ‘past lives,’ I learned a deer is a psycho-pomp or is a guide of a living person’s soul. After leaving my keys to my former downtown office on a snowy Sunday morning, there was a deer—looking directly at me a block away. I was embarking on what I hoped would be a healing journey across the United States and back.  I saw deer 4 times on that trip

4. Keep a SynchronicityStory diary or a blog that includes the date, your emotional response/felt sense, meaningfulness and an overall rating of the synchronicity’s influence, impact or significance. Copy and paste and email it to www.soulstoriesproject.org/com. Here’s a sample. 

• 6/16/19 Saw the movie, “Late Night.” As an ‘older woman’ I was moved by the older woman character’s realization that she was ‘stuck’ in old patterns of belief and behavior. When she opened to the input of a young woman ‘diversity hire,’ she first ‘fell apart’, then ‘woke,’ aka developed a new conscious attitude and changed dramatically. After the movie, National Public Radio’s “On Being” program was on. Host Krista Tibbett interviewed Catholic priest Richard Rohr, whose daily meditations I receive. He said ‘falling apart’ is a ‘natural occurrence’ that seekers’ experience on their psycho-spiritual paths. (He’s also well-versed in Jung’s ideas.) My ego’s life plans have often ‘fallen apart’ so I could be ‘woke,’ and discovered other better and ‘Wholly Other’ plans. Especially recently. Rating: 5 

• 6/17/19  A friend ‘confessed’ she hated the players in the current political ‘combat field.’ I was saddened by this disclosure. Stopping for a brief shop, at the checkout, complications occurred and my vital ‘life force’ went south. I got irritated with grocery checker and my exhausted body. Checked email and saw: “This Morning I Prayed for My Enemies” by Joy Harjo. “And whom do I call my enemy? An enemy must be worthy of engagement. I turn in the direction of the sun and keep walking. It’s the heart that asks the question, not my furious mind.The heart is the smaller cousin of the sun. It sees and knows everything. It hears the gnashing even as it hears the blessing. The door to the mind should only open from the heart. An enemy who gets in, risks the danger of becoming a friend.” Sent poem to my ‘hate-filled’ friend, inwardly apologized to my body and the unwitting poor grocery store checker for treating him as if he were my enemy. Overall rating: 7  

• 6/18/19 I dreamt of ‘a person surfacing from an ‘underwater grave,’ and then had a day full of synchronicities. The big one was at the end of my bio-tuning session, I felt I was rising from the ‘waters of grace’ that had been safely holding me until I could breathe more freely and deeply. I ‘saw’ an image of drowned Ophelia from a movie of “Hamlet.” Mary Pipher’s ‘watershed’ 1984 book, Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Lives of Adolescent Girls came to mind. My teenager self was reviving. Wow! Rating: 3

• 6/19/19 Double 19 day—Nineteen symbolizes beginnings and endings as well as abundance. In a session with a young British woman she committed to ending one self-defeating behavior and try a new pro-active one each week. Just before our session, I’d decided I’d finish a long overdue letter of apology to a friend and do something pro-active later—go to a ‘meet up’ event. I laughed and said to my client, “Synchronicity!” Overall rating 2. Nineteen 2x..10 

• 6/23/19 Had a mysterious ‘knock on the door’ at 4 am. Asking the Dream-maker for more information, when I woke again, I saw ‘debris’ in my higher chakras or ‘inner energy wheels’ so quickly arranged a bio-tuning session for later. At my spiritual group, R’s very personal sharing ‘knocked on the door of my heart’ so I gave her a hug afterward; our hour-long talk and a decision to meet again fulfilled an intuition earlier I’d make a new friend. Thanked the ‘spirit’ who ‘knocked me up,’ as the Brits say, to open my heart and then to R. Overall rating: 8 

5. Register at www.discoversoulbuddieseverywhere.org/com, (launching soon), create a SoulSymbolSnapshot (SSS), match with potential soulbuddies, donate (help the website grow!) write or video about synchronicities that ‘happen,’ i.e. you live in the same country/city or town, have similar backgrounds and likes/dislikes, interests/activities, share the same soulbuddy/ies or a common date, an unusual personal experience, birthdate! Or a unique something else.  

*According to the Vendanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment…just two indications that a transformation is taking place. 1. You stop worrying…become light hearted and full of joy. 2. You encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous.
